During my summer at Edelman, I had the opportunity to support one of the agency’s leading accounts; Starbucks. Working across two key work streams, Brand and Mission & Coffee (focused on sustainability and social impact), I gained hands-on experience in corporate communications for a global brand operating at a high level of visibility.
This role strengthened my skills in media relations, strategic storytelling, and campaign development. I contributed to several high-impact initiatives, including the launch of Starbucks’ Iced Energy beverages, which generated over 13.3 million impressions and coverage across major outlets such as TODAY, People, and NBC. I also worked closely on the Neighborhood Grants campaign, which reached 2.3 million people and drove a 7.6% increase in engagement.
My responsibilities included drafting pitches and press releases, compiling detailed media lists, writing embargo emails, monitoring daily coverage, and identifying timely trends and media opportunities. I also contributed to forward-looking strategy for seasonal campaigns and supported cross-functional collaboration across internal teams.
This experience provided me with a strong foundation in corporate communications, along with a clear understanding of how to support brand reputation, drive media interest, and execute on tight deadlines in a fast-paced agency environment.
